Part of this weekends adventures included an accompanied tour of the transit system in Naples and how to maneuver from place to place! We had such a good time that we went back both Saturday and Sunday! this is just one of the spectacular views from downtown Napoli. I can not get over the roads they are demanding and technical like no other and they are in the city i can not imagine what the Alps and Dolomites will be like! We are some what settled into the house but i wanted to share our adventures with you. We have successfully eaten at more then 4 local restaurants without ordering something gross. we have done a bit of shopping in many different places and shops from IKEA to a local Enoteca (wine store). and Amanda is becoming quite the expert at most things Italian... from Cafe to cold cuts! More to follow!

I happened upon your blog as I was digging into some information about my husband's hometown, Casal di Principe. We are going to be moving to Italy on Tuesday, and I'm curious to know how you have found your life since you moved to Casal. We will be living in Cervinara, about 45 minutes from Casal. We have shipped our car over and will be doing some paperwork during our first days there. Have you found things to be terribly inconvenient? Are you happy with the changes in lifestyle? I hope you might respond to let me know how you have adjusted to life in southern Italy. I know it's challenging!

I'm not going to lie....I find a lot of things inconvenient. Stores don't post hours and this week one will be open and at the same time on the same day next week the same store will not be open. The driving is crazy, but fun at the same time. I guess you have an advantage over us that your husband probably speaks the language and has family around??? The travel opportunities are amazing (I'm writing this from Germany). The convenience you are used to from the states will be completely gone. No 24 hour corner stores, no walmarts, no great places to grab a bite to eat for breakfast or lunch. Absolutely NO choices to for going out to dinner other then Italian. You can get Mexican in Napoli, however they use marinara sauce instead of salsa and parm cheese!!!! ha ha ha. Lots of things are so different and it takes a lot of patience to live in Napoli. However, I wouldn't trade it for the world. I love learning the language, eating the food, learning how to MAKE the food etc.. the culture is totally different and I'm enjoying the time I have learning all about it. The adventures my husband and I have had are the best and I can't wait to go back stateside and share everything with my friends and family. I hope this has helped.
